This has been your most fun month by far. You are always laughing and/or making other people laugh. You have such a personality, always curious, always opinionated, and pretty dang stubborn.
You copy other people's sounds, but mostly it always sounds like you are yelling. You learned to clap this month and you did it nonstop for about a week. You would clap when you saw Mickey, when I would change your diaper, when we'd buckle you in your carseat, haha. Now you only do it occasionally, usually when dad comes home from work or when we are playing peek-a-boo. Dad is your best entertainer and you laugh your hardest when he is home. Besties!
You chomp down on food when I put it in your mouth, sometimes before I get my finger out. Those top teeth came in quite nicely this past month on 7/31, both on the same day, poor chap. Then you got your third top tooth (top, second to the left) on 8/9. With your new top teeth you can also bite into things, which is fun. You love sharing and biting into apples with dad. You'd rather feed yourself and sometimes try to steal the spoon away from me.
You still love food. Love love. You never turn down a snack or meal. You love cut up peaches, pears, and strawberries, yogurt, string cheese, black beans, carrots, green beans, apple sauce, and anything we are eating. There has yet to be something you haven't liked. You make this low sound and pucker your lips together when you are telling us you want food. It's funny for the first five minutes, and then, well, not so much. But we still love you. You are still nursing well. If I sit you up before you feel like you are done, you curl yourself up into a ball so that I can't hold you. It's how you tell me that you aren't finished.
You have really started being mobile this month. You roll from one side of the room to the other, one roll right after the other until you get to your desired location. You always end up trapping yourself underneath the stool or the coffee table or somewhere. When you roll you ram right into things hoping they move out of the way for you. You also pivot when you are sitting up by putting one hand on the ground, pushing off, and turning yourself to change directions. You cross your little legs together all the time. You do it when you sit in your high chair, when you are laying down, pretty much always.
You love to read. You can pretty much hold the book and turn the pages on your own now, but you like when someone reads it to you. You point to the pictures and try to grab what is on the page. Your favorite toys right now are your books, stacking blocks, and dad's watch. You are always banging toys together or throwing them some place. I spend more man hours than I'd like cleaning up the place.
You are known around here for your attack move. You'll stare at something for a bit, and then all of a sudden just attack it with both hands and your whole body. You just dive. I think you are studying it first, and then trying to get it in your hands instantaneously.
You are getting to be so sweet, especially right before I put you down for bed. You put your forehead against mine and smile big and give me open-mouthed kisses. You are always fighting to stay up late, so this is probably an early attempt at buttering me up.
The outdoors is still your favorite. It's also your "chill out" place where we take you if you just get a little crazy and need to take a breather.
You bring so much happiness to my day. It's so fun getting to know the little person you are and spending each day seeing you change and accomplish so much.
Love, Mom
