a bunch of sickies.

We've been sick here at the Hayes house. I had something, then Jack had a different something, then Matty got the same something, then I got the other something, and now we are all miserably sick together. But we are in the last stretch I hope. I have a roll of toilet paper by my bed acting as a tissue box and about 12 empty water bottles. I've lost my voice two times over the course of it, but luckily the hoarseness makes Jack smile at even the most vanilla things I say.

For it being Jack's first sickness, he's fairing well. He sleeps about the same amount of time as long as his mattress is propped up a bit and his nose gets a good, thorough suction. I never thought there would be anything worse than being sick, but turns out having a sick child takes home the prize. I couldn't imagine having an actual sick child, with things that are much more serious than colds. It makes me sad to let my thoughts go there, so I won't. So funnily enough, this situation has made me grateful he is a healthy kid with smiles all the day long, even if those smiles have been accompanied with some grumpiness and sniffles over the course of the last week.
