I went and picked out fabric at Nuttall's in American Fork and created a pattern in my head. I watched a beginner's tutorial on craftsy that was comprehensive and excellent, and then I felt ready to go. From beginning to end, it was done in about two weeks. My favorite part, by far, was piecing the front. The worst, by a mile, was the binding (edges). My fingers hurt from the frequent use of the seam ripper. But from afar it's exactly how I wanted it to look and isn't half bad. Lately I've been really needing a creative outlet, and I'm happy to have found it in sewing. I'm obsessed! I've completely taken over our dining room table with fabric, needles, rotary cutter, oh my.

so sew.
For the last three or four weeks, I'm been on the hugest sewing kick. I mean, I've had a sewing machine for years, but it took me a while to get to know it, befriend it. That's just what I did this month, and we are attached at the hip. A goal I made at the beginning of the year is to finally make a quilt. It seemed like a very huge task for my beginning sewing skills, but turns out, making a quilt isn't all that tough (making a GOOD quilt is the tough part).
