Scottish Festival

The Utah Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving Point was a few weekends ago. Dani got us free tickets (bless her, they are so expensive), and we went to watch her dance. She's kind of amazing and does both Scottish and Irish dance, and it makes my body hurt just watching. We found a nice spot under a shady tree to watch because it was nearing a hundred degrees out there. Jack loved watching the dancing and running around to see the different people. Every one wanted to give him free stuff. He got a free water bottle, free sweet bread, and some stickers all because of his charm. We refreshed ourselves with a huge snow cone that took us about an hour to eat.

Jack fell asleep in the stroller, which was a miracle (I love that the sun wipes him out). We went and got lunch. Matty got this multi-pound smoked turkey leg. The line was so long that he had to wait about a half hour to get it. We watched some of the Scottish athletic games where these hulk-ish men threw things over bars whilst wearing skirts. We walked around some more talking about the Hayes family Scottish roots and then took our leave. It was a fun day!

It was blazing hot. We found shade where we could.
